The configuration requirements for KOSUN’s drilling rig solid control system depend on the depth of the well. Equipment selection may vary slightly for the same well depth in different regions, but the differences are not significant.      Generally, the selection is based on the model of the drilling rig, ranging from ZJ20 to ZJ90.  Typically, for ZJ30 and below, only three levels of solid control equipment are required, namely: drilling fluid shale shaker, desander, and desilter.

For ZJ30 and above, a five-level purification equipment configuration is used, including: drilling fluid shale shaker, vacuum degasser, desander, desilter, and drilling fluid centrifuge. Mud tanks are essential as carriers and commonly used sizes include 95000x2300x2100mm and 125000x2400x2300mm. The number of mud tanks is calculated based on the total volume of drilling mud, selecting the appropriate quantity and size. The approximate total mud volume for ZJ20 is around 120m3, ZJ30 is 240m3, ZJ40 is 260m3, ZJ50 is 320m3, ZJ70 is 420m3, and ZJ90 is 540m3. The amount of circulating mud to be processed is approximately 65% of the total volume. The processing capacity of each level of solid control equipment should meet or slightly exceed the amount of circulating mud.
 

These are the basic principles for equipping a solid control system, and the specific configuration may vary depending on the drilling rig model or customer requirements.

The main equipment in the solid control system remains unchanged, including the five-level purification equipment: shale shaker, vacuum degasser, desander, desilter, and centrifuge. Equipment selection is flexible based on different drilling rig requirements, and other auxiliary equipment is also essential. The desander and desilter must be powered by a sand pump, and the centrifuge can be supplied with slurry by either a submersible slurry pump or screw pump. Mud tanks must have agitators, except for the vibrating screen compartment and degasser compartment (principle: better to have more than less). Mud guns are necessary where there are agitators, as they can flush dead corners of the tanks and assist in starting the agitators.  Additionally, the jet mud mixer is indispensable in the solid control system. It can exist as a separate unit or be directly connected to the tail end of the mixing tank via a manifold.
