Shale shakers: Shale shakers are the primary equipment used to remove large solids and cuttings from the drilling mud. They employ vibrating screens to separate the solid particles, allowing the clean drilling mud to pass through while the solids are discarded.

Decanter centrifuges: Decanter centrifuges are used to further separate solids from the drilling mud by utilizing the difference in density between the solids and the mud. They spin the mud at high speeds, causing the solids to settle and be expelled while the clean mud is discharged.
Mud tanks: Mud tanks are large storage tanks that hold the drilling mud during the drilling process. They provide a space for mud mixing, solid settling, and temporary storage of the mud before it is reused in the drilling operation.
Mud agitators and mud guns: Mud agitators and mud guns are used to maintain the homogeneity of the drilling mud in the tanks. Agitators use paddles or impellers to keep the mud stirred and prevent the settlement of solids, while mud guns inject the mud into the tank to ensure uniform mixing.
